Founding team member Thatcher Brown exits Four Seasons Yachts

'Thatcher has moved on to pursue new opportunities and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors,' a spokesperson for Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings told Seatrade Cruise News.

Brown was a high-ranking founding team member who started as CCO and took on the added responsibility of heading joint yacht operations.

As one of the first employees, he helped recruit the talent and craft the customer-centric, luxury lifestyle concept. He also devised the novel distribution stategy of by-invitation sales to give priority to Four Seasons loyalists and travel advisors, with a wait-list for others. The idea is akin to the cachet of nailing a reservation at The French Laundry, or securing a Hermès Birkin bag or a bottle of Screaming Eagle — something expensive, rare and available to a select few.

Start-up prowess

Brown came to the Four Seasons project with start-up prowess, having helped shape Explora Journeys as chief commercial officer during its formation and leading Genting Hong Kong's new Dream Cruises brand as its first president, ushering in three ships within three years. At the same time, he served as managing director, Crystal Asia, energizing its sales and distribution throughout the region and responsible for the charter air business.

Earlier roles were VP onboard revenue & product development at Costa Cruises in Genoa, and at Jumeirah Group and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Brown worked in brand strategy & management and sales and marketing.

The first Four Seasons Yacht is scheduled for delivery from Fincantieri in late 2025 and due to enter service in the Caribbean in early January 2026.

Other recent team changes

Brown's departure is among several recent executive changes at Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings.

Jan Sorensen, VP newbuild, left to join Celebrity Cruises as VP food and beverage. Soren Krogsgaard, who has been consulting on the Four Seasons Yachts project for over two years, is currently guiding the Fincantieri site team.

Nils Lindstad was promoted to VP business development and sales excellence; previously he was executive director, sales excellence and partner services. Prior VP Business Development Sam Chamberlain went to Ponant as CEO for the Americas.

President/CEO Larry Pimentel and Co-Founder Philip Levine left in February.
